Salomon reached out to me for a freelance project that consisted of creating a digital invite, and designing a logo for an event hosting Free People employees, and training them on Salomon shoe specs in order to sell them in stores.
Based on the theme of the event, “sip & style”, I created a custom script logo, that serves as a callback to Free People’s iconic cursive logo. This logo was displayed on the two versions made of this invite, as well as the custom vinyl displayed in stores during the event.
SALOMON X VANDYTHEPINK
VANDYTHEPINK is a Virginia-based designer, from South Korea. He became popular for his playful, whimsical, and brazen designs and collaborations that have established his unique brand. Other collaborations include: Netflix, Pokemon, McDonald’s, etc.
For this collaboration, a sportstyle shoe was created, and inspired by Vandy’s classic hamburger and french fries mascots that are recurring across his brand.
I was tasked to prepare print files for the launch event at the SALOMON Soho store in New York, as well as creating a poster that embodied the two brands, as well as the purpose of the event. The poster was requested to give the impression of a “menu” while containing all of the information for the event itself.
The poster was printed in both 11x17 and 8.5x11.
Along with these assets, I also created a small poster that was to be displayed on the storefront’s door with more information about the event.
